Behavior Consultation Processes:
A Guided Intensive
Same students. Same teachers. Same crises. You're pulled in every direction, on call for every behavioral emergency, and have an ever-growing caseload with no time for the work you were actually trained to do. This exhausting cycle isn't a you problem, it's a systems problem. When there's no clear, structured behavior consultation process, you become the default answer to every problem.
This intensive is where you build that process. You'll leave with a consultation system that protects your time and role, builds the capacity of the staff around you, and sets up students for equitable, sustained support.
In our CEU Building Behavior Support Teams, we walked you through what a good behavior support system looks like. Now, we're giving you the tools and mentorship to move from understanding the concepts to customizing a finished system to your district.
Rather than leaving with a notebook full of ideas that never get looked at again, each week, you'll develop a piece of your behavior consultation system. By the end of the intensive, you'll have a proposal for a customized framework that includes:

Draft a referral and consultation proposal for your district or building -- roles, service levels, screening, intake, and case closure -- ready to bring to an administrator.

Shift from reactive to proactive consultation, identifying at least three concrete changes to make in your own caseload.

Decide the right level of service for any case, weighing student safety, district need, and team capacity.

Calculate your real capacity using a structured workload analysis tool, so you know when it's appropriate to take on a new case.

Ground every decision in the BACB Ethics Code, including scope of competence, intake decisions, service agreements, case termination, collaboration, and documentation.

We combine hands-on experience in schools with research-based expertise in designing, evaluating, and improving educational systems at scale.
We served as school-based behavior analysts in one of the largest public school districts in the country, where overwhelming caseloads, competing priorities, and limited resources required us to build efficient, sustainable systems, not just respond to crises.
Those experiences became the foundation for our research. We both earned PhDs in special education, studying how educational systems function and how to improve them. Along the way, we built expertise in multiple methods of quantitative and qualitative research, including program evaluation and survey research, adult learning practices, and technical writing. Now, we apply those skills to evaluate how school-based systems function and perform and to inform practical strategies that schools can apply directly.
With an emphasis on identifying and using existing resources, we help districts align their supports with their contexts and goals to create equitable outcomes for students. Specifically, we support school-based staff's capacity to implement evidence-based behavioral interventions, design and implement effective behavior systems, and use coaching and implementation science to make those systems work in practice.
Everything we teach is shaped by what we've experienced, what we've studied, and what we've seen work in schools, so the tools you walk away with are built not just to work once, but to hold up as your context changes.

The logistics:
Format
Everything is held virtually, with on-demand video webinars, live video calls for small group support and feedback, and asynchronous peer & instructor collaboration in a private online space. The library of materials will be provided digitally via Google Drive.
Scheduling
Webinars will be released each Friday and will conclude with application activities to bring to the live support session. The live support sessions will be held the following week, with a mid-day and late afternoon option. Participants can choose the session that works best with their schedule.
Time Commitment
To get the most from this intensive, expect to spend 3-5 hours per week: Webinars are 1-2 hours each, application activities will vary, and live support sessions are 1 hour.
Cohorts
Participants will engage in the webinars individually and participate in live support sessions with a small group of like-minded peers. Cohorts will be capped at 10 participants, with the exception of teams registering together.
Fall 2026 Opportunities:
We are now enrolling participants for Cohort 2.
Webinars release on Fridays, starting on 8/28.
Live sessions will occur each Thursday, from 9/3 - 10/8, mid-day and after school.
Exact times will be determined after registration to align with participant schedules.

What payment options do I have?

Who is this intensive best for?
This series is best for school-based behavior specialists or BCBAs who provide support for challenging behavior in schools on an indirect or consultative basis. In other words, providers whose primary job is to support others in assessing behavior and implementing behavior interventions, and who primarily provide services based on referrals. This intensive is appropriate for BCBAs or behavior specialists who are directly employed by school districts or contracted through outside agencies, so long as the main purpose is to build others' capacity to assess and intervene with challenging behavior.
This intensive would not be the best fit for behavior specialists or BCBAs who provide direct, 1:1 support to students, or who primarily focus on areas other than challenging behavior (e.g., academics).
I've taken the CEU - how is this different?
The Building Behavior Support Teams: Practical and Ethical Tips for School-Based Behavior Analysts CEU is a two-hour didactic course providing an overview of what to consider as you revamp your behavior consultation process. This intensive provides ~8 hours of didactic instruction and 6 hours of live specialized support, diving deeper into each concept, with editable resources included, to walk away with a customized consultation process. I'm just learning about this. Do I need to have taken the CEU course first?
We recommend it to ensure that what we teach generally fits your context, but it's not required. We'll cover the key concepts again along the way.
Can I just get the recorded webinars? Can I just buy the resources?
No. The recorded webinars and library of resources are only available to participants in the guided intensive.
I'm a BCBA. Can I be guaranteed 10 CEUs for this intensive?
10 CEUs are contingent on completing all webinars, quizzes, application activities, and applicable live sessions. Completing the six recorded webinars and their quizzes earns you 8 CEUs guaranteed: 4 ethics, 1 supervision, and 3 general. Completing the application activities and live sessions can earn you up to 2 additional general CEUs, for 10 total.
How will the live sessions be scheduled? What if I need to miss a session?
Two live sessions will be offered each week, and these will recur at the same days and times for the six weeks. Specific times will be set after enrollment to ensure that participants are able to attend. You may miss any session for any reason, and you can still access instructor and peer feedback through our private online platform. We will post recordings of the live sessions to our private course website to be viewed for up to 7 days after the session occurred.
How will resources be shared?
Everything will be held within Google Suite. We will share a force-copy link which will give you your own, fully editable folder.
My entire behavior support team is interested - can we register together?
Yes! If you request a PO below, be sure to leave us a note about registering as a team, including the number of participants. You may have the option of having private live sessions with one of the instructors as a group, if you prefer. Once you contact us, we will work with you on a discounted price.
